The Alkaline Water Co., Inc. (OTCBB:WTER<\/a>) has a new post to defend, the 50-cent levels at which the ticker has been drifting for a few days. WTER<\/a> added a bit more than 5% net on Friday, to reach exactly 50 cents on trading volumes a bit above $447,000. \"WTER0923.png\" <\/p>\n

WTER<\/a> is making a new bid for a successful bid in the new week, as an email landed just today, before markets open. Trader TV mentioned WTER<\/a> for a compensation of $25,000, a small chunk of the total $3 million budget for this stock. The new pumpers are not showing any imagination, merely spreading again and again the official-looking profile of the company, the one also printed out as a glossy paper mailer.\"TRLR0923.png\"<\/p>\n

The volumes for WTER<\/a> have been shrinking after the height of buying a few days ago. It may be time to see if WTER<\/a> can stand on its own, with a mix of press releases and PR messages, without the boost from the paper mailer. So far, the company has not issued official press releases, but the claims about the benefits of alkaline water, plus the pictures of new packaging, have been circulating investors’ forums.<\/p>\n

Trader TV is a newcomer to the WTER<\/a> promotion, a pumper with a relatively high compensation of $315,000, so far with a record of around 25 stock selections. To understand where WTER<\/a> is going, it may be beneficial to look at previous picks by Trader TV.<\/p>\n

Norstra Energy, Inc. (OTCMKTS:NORX<\/a>) had something of a run when it got suspended for over-zealous promotion. From a peak of $1.60, NORX<\/a> retreated to current levels around 39 cents, where it has drifted for months.<\/p>\n

Winning Media, the paying party, has a history of loud promotions that ended with a crash. Perhaps the most notable example is Trulan Resources, Inc. (OTCMKTS:TRLR<\/a>), which started off the year with promotions, and went on to slide from the 10-cent levels to double-zeroes, despite the renewal of email campaigns.\"NORX0923.png\"<\/p>\n

While we could say WTER<\/a> has already made its first big crash, this does not protect the ticker from further corrections. WTER<\/a> could easily slide to a lower price range, if most of the uptrend was caused by promotions. If you need to enter at your chosen time and price, keep in mind that WTER<\/a> is easily reacting to PR hype and emails, but the stock price degrades without the noise.
